Keith Preston Gets An “A”

Congrats to Keith Preston at Alternative Right. He managed to write an article and not only mention 9/11 and not be a cheesemaker, he actually “interpreted” the event in a non-idiotic way, all the while without getting involved in all of that nasty truther business.

Amazingly, this is something that most of the “alternative right” and white nationalist authors can’t seem to do.

  1. He refers to Iraq and Afghanistan as “military defeats”, which is true in one sense but not in another. I don’t think the objective in those places was never to “win” at all, but to secure the opium fields in Afghanistan and simply destabilize Iraq and keeping it from ever presenting an even potentially halfway-competent counterbalance to Israel’s regional hegemony. I think, furthermore, that both of these objectives were accomplished – all while completing the additional and overarching task of doling out some major pork to defense manufacturers.

I can’t argue with this. I’ve heard this “we’ve lost every war since WWII” rhetoric for years. But, have “we?” How did America “lose” Vietnam? Now, they make our Nintendos or whatever. How did the USA “lose” Iraq? How did USA “lose” Afghanistan? The USA killed a bunch of people, but since some of their relatives were upset, that means “we” “lost?”

I don’t think I’m smart enough to understand the subtlety of this one.
